Secretary-  Will Council 934-8450 willcouncil@pcola.gulf.net
Treasurer-  Ed Stork 939-1057 femaun@yahoo.com

Members Present George Hamilton, Paul Carlson, Ed Stork, Chris Gahimer & Pam Moffett, Jay & Nancy Rios, Mike & Diane Walter, Chris Ammons, Rich Duchnowski, Dustin & Jaime Crawley, Paul Woodward, Tom & Chris Callaway, John Taylor and Will Council.

Visitors- Dave Kirkpatrick, Ted Arthur '90 Wrangler and Chet Szymecki.

Sorry, no minutes were available since the Secretary's notes from the Christmas party have been packed up in the preparation for Will and Susan moving to Chattanooga Everyone had a great time at the Christmas party held at Ed Stork's house in Navarre.  True to form we experienced high winds and driving rains.  We should rent our parties out to draught stricken countries.  We think this was the 3rd in a row to see the bottom fall out.  Maybe next year we need to increase the gift allowance, there were a lot of flash lights exchanged this year, although Mike Walter gave some nice ball caps with the club initials on them.....and Will was happy to get one.

Treasurer's Report-  United membership dues have been paid. T-shirts are in  Please see Ed at the next meeting if you should like to purchase any.

Old Business:

Crestview Ride January something.  (There was confusion as to which day the ride was officially held). Jay Rios led on Saturday - George Hamilton went diving but forgot his jeep was not equipped with a snorkel. A visitor with a TJ then tried the same hole with out success so Jay had to give it heck with his surrogate Jeep from Jim Young.  There was a lot a discussion about just how stuck Jay got but he claimed that a log was behind him and would not let his jeep out of the hole.  Lots of breakage and trail work on this first hole and I am not sure if they went much further.

The Sunday ride was led by John Taylor and Ed Stork (from the rear!- good leadership there fellows)  Both members said they had a great ride and did not experience any trouble except for one little Sami which laid it on it's side. They didn't needed to winched  back over.  Those things are so little and cute that it just popped back on its feet and kept going.

"Surprise" going away party for Will and Susan Council, held at Body Tech. I say surprise because Will had to lie to Susan to get her over to Jay's shop on a Saturday afternoon which it is not usually open. Food fellowship and story telling was great.  The club gave Will and Susan a very nice plaque as a tribute to our departure from the club....when ever that will take place.  Susan has already started working in Chattanooga, TN and Will will follow with the kids, just as soon as we sell our house.

Up Coming Rides

Crestview John Taylor will lead this one again on Saturday 17th FEB. Meet at the Flea market @9:30 roll at 10.  Wonder if Jay will show up to abuse Jim Young's jeep again?!

Old Business:

Crestview Ride - Ed Stork or John Taylor lead this ride, however it was up to Chris Ammons to give the trail report.  Seems she was the only one to make it out alive.......Small turnout for the event with only 4 jeeps including one visitor, Tommy Overman. Chris said some really cool looking trucks showed up and proceeded to go anywhere they wanted to and to break and fix anything and everything on the trucks.  Chris got her jeep extremely muddy and I believe that Ed Stork assisted in that matter by failing to mention to her to close her windows before hitting the hole! She claimed to still have mud on the inside and is determined to leave it there.  Way to go Chris!  Not too long
ago this was the same person who was concerned about a little backcountry pin stripping.  Bring those pictures next time Chris.

Speaking of Old News........Mike Walter turned the big 40!!!!!! last week.  A surprise party was
held jointly with his military command.  Chris Gahimer reported that the "new Navy" just doesn't know how to party anymore.  The keg had to be liberated and returned to Chris's house for further
floatation testing.  I think it took two days to get that sucker to bob!  Anyway, Happy Birthday Mike.
