Treasurer's Report:
No Treasurer's Report
Reviewed minutes from previous meeting.
Old Business:
The broken hub award goes to Luan To for breaking the most Hubs.
Adopt a highway is on. Chris Gahimer has been in contact with Mr. Corley.
The scheduled date is March 13th to clean up our section of Mobile Hwy.
Ours is between the fairgrounds and Massachutes. Chris Gahimer will lead
with more info at next meeting. This needs to be a whole club event.
Eglin Air Force Reservation. Note that everyone over 16 needs to have
a pass to ride on the reservation. Pass can be obtained at Jackson Guard
in Niceville. Also before you go on the reservation you need to call (850)
882-0007
Last years charity was decided on. It will be the Ronald McDonald House.
We also voted on this years charity being the Children's Home Society.
Chris Gahimer will see about getting someone from the Society to speak
to us at the next meeting about everything they do.
New members were voted in, welcome to the club:
- Fred & Tommy Cartes (79 CJ5) was voted in as a new member. Fred
proudly sponsors all of Tommy's learning accidents that involve the
Jeep. It's Yellow, a 5 and actually does state that vehicle is subject
to rolls.
- J.W. Hicks (79 CJ-5/ 93 YJ) was voted in as a new member. Who
couldn't, not vote in the Tony the Tiger stripped Jeep. This may have
been a sympathy vote also, or an age thing that some of us don't understand.
Hope the shoulder gets better so you can drive again.
February Events:
6-8 Feb - Gray Rock, AL. Mike Rios - Ride Leader. Was a great ride,
lot of tough terrain to negotiate, real friendly staff there to help you
out when needed.
21 Feb - Crest View Ride - Jay Rios - Ride Leader. Another great ride
to Crestview. George is no longer allowed to ride Crestview, since he
makes it look too easy. First break of the day went to Ron who tore a
break line off. A quick fix with help from Jay got everyone headed over
to the pit area. Mike was able to figure out what had damaged his oil
pump last visit here to Crestview so that won't happen again.
New Business:
Start thinking about the club camping trip. Where we might want to
go this spring.
Tom Leonard is working out plans for a club charity car wash around Easter
time.
New members were voted in, welcome to the club:
- Greg "Rookie" Jensen (78 CJ5/ 87 YJ) was voted in as a new
member. Greg has been trying to join for the longest time, finally worked
his schedule out to get here to apply. One stipulation by Nancy was
the need for "Rookie" to be visible on his Jeep.
March Events:
28 Feb - Holt Ride - Brian Taylor - Ride Leader. Mike Rios - Co-lead.
This is a ride on Private Property. Meet at the junction of 87 & 90
in east Milton. Yahoo! Maps. This ride was scheduled at the January Meeting,
but happens after the February one.
13th - Club cleanup of Adopt a highway is on to clean up our section of
Mobile Hwy. Ours is between the fairgrounds and Massachusetts. Chris Gahimer
will lead. This needs to be a whole club event.
20th - Milton Ride. Meet at the Texas Road House in Milton at 9:30 am,
Roll at 10:00 am.
Swap and Sell: (Prices subject to change without notice)
Craig Morris - A whole bunch of CJ parts, just ask.
Pass the Hat
Next Meeting - 30 March 2004
