Welcomed Visitors:
Treasurer's Report:
No Treasurer's Report
Reviewed minutes from previous meeting.
Old Business:
Tom is working on another car wash for June, this will give more time
for planning.
2 car shows coming up, one on 1 May and the second on 8 May but that was
left up to individuals if they wanted to go.
May Events:
14-16 May - Gray Rock, ORV. It was an interesting ride with everyone
involved. Unfortunately Jay and Nancy had to ride with Mike for most of
the trip due to Queen B's Motor giving up the ghost on what is reported
to be a small hill climb. There were a few of the TJ owners that decided
to run the bunny trails, they did make the comment about "Oh man
this is the bunny trail?" The park is an enjoyable place to go.
15 May - Milton ride Lead by Damian Marraffino. 11 Jeeps total, including
an XJ and a ZJ for the trail. The Grand managed to loose the front bumper
twice, reasons why plastic isn't a good thing. We did manage to demonstrate
a few trail repairs. A quick rebending of 2 tie-rods (don't you just hate
those submerged logs), of course Tommy just got back and decided to bring
his CJ-5 out to play, it got mad at him for letting it sit around for
a few months so it decided to spit a radiator out. Of course a visitor
decided to drive through a small mud puddle, (barely got the side of the
tires wet) when it decided I don't like water, and just quit, it ran perfectly
fine the next day. See that's what you get when you take a California
jeep to Florida. Now we have out local daredevil report - George "Hard
Top" Hooper, showed us how not to straddle a gulley. One note from
Damian, "Mindy is not allowed to go off by herself anymore"
as he changed out the flat tire.
22 May - Beach ride, lead by Ed Stork. It was a beeuuuutiful day, we started
of with 9 jeep ( 8 members and 1 visitor ), left a little before 11:00
and headed for the beach. Again I had to remind every one that the ride
leader didn't pay for all tolls. The ride was uneventful as there wasn't
much traffic on the beach yet. We took the usual route towards Ft Pickens
and than back through the beach parking lot and on to Navarre, we stopped
at Opal Beach on the sound side, had plenty of room to park all in a row
and an open pavilion. Norm!!! Time to fire up the Keg (grill), the water
was nice although some said it was cold and there was a nice breeze all
day long. We broke up at about 4:00 pm. Thanks again to Norm for the good
grub and Nancy for the salad. We need to do this more often. It was noted
that Ed got lost in the parking lot.
Tom and Bobby attended the Berrydale car show and both brought home 1st
place trophys

for the night.
