 Treasures’ Report:

Ed stated that we have 2133.64 dollars in the White Sand Jeep Club bank account. Ed mentioned that the club is now able to purchase shirts in various colors.  Any requests should be made to him.  Motion passed for 1000 dollars to be given to Children’s Home Society.  Ed will also make the annual charity contribution to Children’s Home Society this month.  Ed is selling WSJC mugs for 12.50.

Stuck Fund. 

After our New Year’s Day ride there were several contributions to the stuck fund.  Ed, Matt, Rodney, Mark and Dwayne.

 Old Business:

1.         Update on the ’94 Jeep Cherokee project. 

-The Cherokee needs a radio. Perry mentioned that one could be bought at Wal mart for around 80 dollars.

-The windshield will be replaced by Precision auto glass for the price of the costs of the materials.

-Engine work such as the valve collar is leaking and the rear main seal is worn.

-So far 400 dollars has been spent by the jeep club for this project.

2.         Discussion was held about how much to charge for tickets.  Most of the club is agreeing on a price range of 10-25 dollars.  The tickets could be sold at car washes and other car shows.  The club agree to giving the project and ticket sales a year before holding a raffle.

3.         Brandon told the club about the New Year’s Ride that was held in Milton. 

Most of the club members that show up got stuck.  Saw grass was the culprit along with recent   rains made for a fun trail ride.  Some fun was gained by watching other local residents getting stuck down to the axis of their vehicles.  At one time there were 6 vehicles, not our club members, stuck.  Lots of folks paid up for the stuck fund.

New Business:

1.  Motion was passed to open up the upcoming car show (November, 2008) to all types of vehicles, not just Jeeps.
2. We need a location for the upcoming car show, one member mention using a local church in Pace.
3. Glenda will not be able to make the flyers.  Any volunteers that could help out would greatly be appreciated.
4. Brandon mentioned that once we have flyers, he could circulate them in Mobile during his work trips for a gas company.
5. For an upcoming ride in April, the club was undecided about going to Morris Mountain or Gray Rock. 
6. Motion passed for Ed to donate the remaining car show t-shirts to Children’s Home Society.
7. Motion passed to keep Children’s Home Society for another year.  Melissa Morris spoke to the group about Sunshine Down Syndrome Group and the Buddy walk.

Many members of the group feel that money from the car shows can be give to both groups.  Another motion was passed to have only one charity for the year.

 Rides for February

1. Show and shine, Feb. 9 at 5 pm.  Meet at Hwy 90 at the Winn Dixie and Big Lots shopping area.
2. Feb. 23, John Kittrell to lead a ride.  Meet at Hwy 29 and CR 97 at 9.00 am.

Upcoming Events

1. The jeep club is considering a camping trip, April 18-20 at Cal Kelly State Park.  This park is north of Atmore and Dwayne stated that this was a nice place to camp.  More information to be shared at the next meeting.
2. Norm Kressler mentioned a possible ride to Daytona Beach in May.  Contract him for further info.
